1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the SwornTranslators.lk platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users including individuals, businesses, and any other entities.

2. Description of Service

SwornTranslators.lk provides professional sworn document translation services, primarily from Sinhala and Tamil to English, for use in official, legal, immigration, and attestation processes including submissions to the Sri Lanka Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
• You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Document Submission & Accuracy

• You are solely responsible for ensuring that all documents you submit are genuine, accurate, and legally obtained. Submitting fraudulent, forged, or illegally obtained documents is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination and referral to relevant authorities.
• The quality of the translation is directly dependent on the clarity and legibility of the source documents you provide. SwornTranslators.lk is not responsible for errors arising from unclear, damaged, or illegible originals.
• You warrant that you have the legal right to submit all documents uploaded to the platform.

5. Pricing & Payment

• Prices are quoted in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and are determined per request by our team based on document type, length, and complexity.
• Payment must be made in full via bank transfer to our nominated account before the translated document is released to you.
• SwornTranslators.lk reserves the right to adjust pricing at any time. Any change in price after a request is submitted will be communicated to the customer before proceeding.
• We do not store or process credit card information. All payments are made directly via bank transfer.

6. Refund Policy

• Refunds will only be considered if SwornTranslators.lk is unable to complete the requested translation due to issues on our end.
• No refund will be issued once the translated document has been delivered.
• If you are dissatisfied with the translation, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will review and, where appropriate, provide a revised translation at no additional cost.
• Payments are non-refundable if work has commenced and you choose to withdraw the request.

7. Delivery

• Turnaround times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. SwornTranslators.lk will make reasonable efforts to deliver within the communicated timeframe.
• For courier delivery, SwornTranslators.lk is not responsible for delays caused by third-party courier services or incorrect addresses provided by the customer.
• PDF translations are delivered via secure download link accessible through your account.

8. Data & Document Retention

• All documents uploaded to our platform are stored on secure, encrypted servers.
• Original documents and completed translations will be permanently deleted from our servers 3 months after the date of delivery.
• We strongly advise you to save a copy of all documents — originals and translations — for your own records before the retention period expires.
• We do not share your documents or personal information with third parties except as required by Sri Lankan law.

9. Confidentiality

SwornTranslators.lk treats all submitted documents and personal information with strict confidentiality. Our translators are bound by professional confidentiality obligations. We will not disclose the content of your documents to any unauthorised third party.

10. Intellectual Property

The translated document produced by SwornTranslators.lk is delivered to you for your personal or business use. SwornTranslators.lk retains no ownership over the content of client documents. All platform software, branding, and design are the intellectual property of SwornTranslators.lk and may not be reproduced without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

• SwornTranslators.lk provides translations for informational and official submission purposes. We are not liable for any rejection of documents by third-party institutions, government departments, embassies, or courts.
• Our total liability to you in connection with any request shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that specific request.
• We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our Service.

12. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Submit forged, altered, or fraudulent documents.
• Engage in any activity that is illegal under Sri Lankan law.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse our staff or other users.
• Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful code.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from the use of this Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

14. Changes to Terms

SwornTranslators.lk reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
